Lacey + Jason’s Krohn Conservatory Wedding Celebration
We love everything about this September wedding at Cincinnati's Krohn Conservatory. From the stunning outdoor photographs of Lacey + Jason in the idyllic landscape of Eden Park to every single orchid, succulent and cactus that produces such beauty and wonder inside the Krohn.
Lacey's love of plants made one of Cincinnati's most spectacular institutions the perfect choice for her wedding day. The floral wedding arch was dressed in dahlias, willow and eucalyptus. Succulents in emerald, lime and hunter green grew out of elegant terra cotta pots at guest tables. And the cake! Magical creamy white, silvery lamb's ear green tiered gorgeousness. The day was photographed perfectly by Laura Katie Photography.
How was your personal style reflected in your wedding day?
I would say I am more of a classic person with my style and that is what I tried to do with the wedding. The colors were very neutral, none of my details were showy and it definitely wasn’t trendy. I LOVE plants! I probably have 30 plants around my house! So it was really important to me to incorporate them into wedding!
How did you and Jason meet? What was your first impression of him? What was his first impression of you?
My husband and I met at Japps in OTR about 4 ½ years ago. I was out with my girlfriends and he was out with his cousin. They just started chatting with us and hung out with us the rest of the night. We actually didn’t go on our first date until 4 months after we met. After that first date we were inseparable! My first impression of Jason was that he was very handsome and kind. He was very easy to talk to and fun to be around! He says that he knew when we first met that we’d be perfect together – that I was warm, affectionate, and funny!
Tell us about finding your dress.
It was an awesome day! I went dress shopping with my mom and 2 of my best friends! I was getting a bit discouraged because I had tried on like ten dresses and I just wasn’t getting the feeling. Then my friend Amanda started going through racks and brought me a blush dress (which is my favorite color) and said this is it! So I put it on and she was absolutely right it was the perfect dress for me and was so flattering to my body type! Also I am always trying to be different and unique and this dress was definitely unique!
Tell us about the proposal.
Jason proposed to me on Christmas Day. He waited until we had opened all of our presents, and told me he had one more surprise for me! It was really sweet because we were unable to be with our families for the holiday because of my job so it was just us that morning! It made for an amazing Christmas!
How did you decide on The Krohn? Why was it the perfect choice?
I love plants so Krohn Conservatory was the perfect venue for me!! To be surrounded by beautiful plants is like heaven to me!
What was your favorite detail?
I can’t just pick one so I am going to give you my top three! The venue set the atmosphere for what I wanted. Elegant, classy, mixed with a bit of boho. My dress! It was so unique and I have never seen anything like it worn at a wedding plus I just felt amazingly beautiful in it! I think the favorite details from the guests’ perspective was the s’more bar and the pad Thai stations.
All the best to Lacey + Jason in the years to come!! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful wedding day with us!
