Meghan + Dan’s Cincinnati Wedding with a Focus on Florals

Meghan + Dan were married in the Monastery Event Center on a gorgeous spring day in Cincinnati. Jonathan Gibson Photography captured the day.

How would you describe the overall style of your wedding? How did it reflect your personal styles?

Our wedding was a celebration of spring with elegant vintage accents. There was a lot of focus on the florals, then most other selections followed from there: dresses, suits, venue, stationery. Our wedding choices were a lot like our decor at home: soft colors, and inspiration drawn from nature and vintage pieces.

Did you have a strong idea for the design of your wedding stationery prior to your consultation?

Not Really. We knew the soft colors we wanted and the gold accents but we did not know how to make it come together. This is where Kristen at Poeme was a fantastic help! She is so talented in her designs and knowledgeable about options.

How did you envision the stationery, flowers, cake and decor working together to create a cohesive look?

I hoped that by focusing on the same flowers and colors throughout it would come together. Our wedding planner and florist working together were a lot of help too! They had awesome ideas. Pinterest was great to visualize all the different elements and see them in one place prior to the big day. In the end, the look of the wedding was more beautiful than we had imagined.

What is your favorite memory from the day?

Having everyone from our life all in one place. That is a magical feeling, to have everyone together and having so much fun!

What part of the process did you find most interesting - the design, the print process, the etiquette and tradition? What part did you find most challenging?

Working with Kristen in person and seeing our choices come together on her computer in less than an hour was amazing. The whole time we had example card stock and envelopes at our fingertips to touch and compare. The process was easier than we anticipated but still so interesting. The most challenging part is tracking down your guests current addresses and the correct spelling of their formal names!
