Hannah + Alex’s Classic, Timeless Wedding

Timeless and classic winter wedding with elegant stationery details. Pearl border invitation and enclosures with matching pearl envelope liner topped off with custom wedding monogram. The monogram was used throughout the reception details including the welcome signage and projected in light over the stage for an extra pop of wow. Introductions

I was walking into work just a week ago and had the pleasure of bumping into Hannah while she was walking her adorable puppy with her mom, Becky. I never had the pleasure to meet Becky in person during the wedding plans. Hannah’s family is from Indiana so most of our communication outside of the initial consultation was facilitated through email and phone and guided seamlessly by their wedding planner, Heidi Kolby, of 44th and Luxe.

Classic & Timeless Wedding

Hannah has taste. Timeless, classic, never-go-out-of-style-will-love-it-in-a-million-years taste. Her vision was simplicity. Black type on a soft white cotton with just a whisper of shimmer brought in delicately by adding a subtle pearl foil border. Quality was equal in parts to design and her selections throughout the process were deliberate and consistent.

The one thing I love about “taste" is that is usually steeped in practicality and longevity. Most couples I work with who approach their wedding plans with an eye for tradition are usually very pragmatic - they are keen to find value in design when design is necessary and quality when something is tangible and has staying power.

So this brings me back to my first face-to-face meeting with Hannah’s mom, Becky. Within our very brief conversation Becky said “You’re going to think I am crazy, but I love great paper, so I use the RSVP cards.” She explained that she collected all of the responses and could not bring herself to throw them away after the wedding. In fact, her solution was to keep the RSVP cards handy in her kitchen. The backside became her go-to grocery list/phone message/do not forget stationery!

I absolutely cannot think of a better compliment. To love the quality of the wedding stationery so much that it must be used again, AND think of the joy in picking up a card, turning it over and reminiscing about the Smith’s dancing at the wedding, or the beautiful compliment the Jones’s shared at the end of the reception, or the way the Murphy’s made three trips to the dessert table!

So there you go - recycle, reuse and reduce!
