Brittany + Troy's Summer Wedding at Cooper Creek Event Center

Brittany + Troy were married in an outdoor ceremony at Cincinnati’s Cooper Creek Event Center on a gorgeous summer day. Brittany’s bridal party wore sparkling rose gold gowns and carried bouquets full of white and blush florals including the beautiful peony. The day was captured by Kortnee Kate Photography.

Tell us about your wedding.

We wanted an elegant, classic wedding to celebrate our love for each other, our joyful relationship, and getting our families together. Our moms were best friends in high school and my mom moved to California after she graduated. I was born out there so the wedding was like a family reunion with people from California and Ohio coming together. We wanted to make sure everyone had a good time.

Troy surprised me with a rose gold engagement ring so we incorporated mixed metallics in rose gold and gold. Our linens were champagne and ivory and there were subtle pops of pink in the florals. Yellow Canary Floral and Event Design did an amazing job pulling together the colors in the florals.

Tell us about your vision for the ceremony and reception decor.

We had an outdoor ceremony and I knew I wanted to incorporate white market umbrellas for shade. We spread petals down the aisle which represented people who were not with us and we included a note about it in our ceremony program. Instead of a unity candle we created a sand container which represented our lives coming together and becoming one. We have it on display in our home as a reminder that our lives have become one.

The decor for our reception was elegant and classic with lots of natural light. We used regal champagne, ivory dupioni linens, gold chiavari chairs, and greenery down head tables with geometric centerpieces. Our cake table was covered with a sequin linen and there were florals underneath the cake. Troy and I sat at a sweet heart table and our wedding party of nine bridesmaids and nine groomsmen sat at two head tables.

What were some of your favorite parts of your wedding?

My father passed away when I was in grade school and I included a charm in my bouquet in his memory. We also had a memory table. Troy and I signed every escort card thanking everyone personally for coming to the wedding. We love to dance and are the wedding guests that dance all night. The Downtown Band from Nashville played all night. They were so engaging with the crowd and we had moments when everyone was on the floor around us dancing. Our first dance was to Justin Timberlake’s Mirrors. Troy surprised me with a dance with his dad. After a few minutes of dancing with his mom, his dad came and got me to dance and we all danced together. Troy gave his groomsmen socks with different sports teams and I got my bridesmaids special gifts for the day of. Another special moment was when I saw Troy walking down the aisle. One of my favorite photos is of his face when he saw me. I loved walking down the aisle after the ceremony, just looking forward to enjoying the day. I had a fabulous vendor team and didn’t have to worry about anything and just got to enjoy the day.
