Ellie + Jeff's Vibrant Florida Destination Wedding
Ellie + Jeff’s destination wedding weekend was a vibrant and floral filled celebration in Vero Beach at John’s Island Club. The ocean side venue set the tone for a festive, unforgettable day that Ellie described as, Florida meets summer in the Hamptons. The couple had their first look under moss laden oak trees followed by an outdoor ceremony with a ceremony arc of meadow flowers and dancing into the night at their beachside reception under a sailcloth tent.
The wedding invitations were classic with a nod to tropics. Suite pieces were letterpressed with custom watercolor illustrations by Ellie’s long time friend and local artist, Linnea Head. The palm tree on the main invitation also featured on the ribbon tied ceremony program and wedding favor matchboxes. There were so many fun details that pulled everything together like the weekend events enclosure card which was a custom die cut of a vibrant green illustration of a monstera plant leaf. Circular dinner menus with custom watercolor border paired beautifully with the bright florals, woven wicker chargers, and candlelight tablescape. How did you and Jeff meet?
Jeff and I met 10 years ago (crazy!) during my first week at Elon University, and we have been together ever since!
How would you describe the style/vibe of your wedding?
Vibrant and fun florida meets summer in the Hamptons! I strayed away from tropical at first, but through the artwork and stationery I really fell in love with giving a nod to the tropical surroundings of our venue! Linnea's artwork and Poeme’s execution of design made it all come to life for me.

The save the date led the way for everything! Linneas tropical vibrant fun floral borders really paved the way for everything else. The invitation I wanted to be simple and formal, but not just on a white card. Kristen totally got that and we landed on this amazing green color for everything. and of course pulled everything together with the most fun die cut dinner and dancing card. I loved that!

Tell us about planning a destination wedding.
We planned since summer of 2019 from London which was our home base at the time. It was definitely challenging but it all came together so beautifully.
Why was your venue perfect for your celebration?
it was the perfect place. My parents live there in the winter now, and the club is just so incredibly talented. They handled everything so gracefully and did not miss any details - alongside Viva Bella, my wonderful planner. We got married under the most beautiful trees and it had been pouring rain all day but stopped an hour before the ceremony, and the sun came out right when we were saying our vows to each other. Then we paraded across the street with streamers and music to a stunning sperry tent by the ocean!
