Nicole + Zach’s Greenacres Wedding Celebration with Sage & Gold Accents
After a year and a half of planning, Nicole + Zach had the wedding of their dreams at Cincinnati’s beautiful Greenacres Art Center. Nicole described her wedding vision as elegant and timeless. Their end of the summer celebration included a soft color palette of sage green, pale blue, and antique gold. The wedding party carried romantic bouquets with white florals and pops of pink and greenery.
The ceremony was held at Mother of God Church in Covington then everyone celebrated with dinner and dancing in a floral filled reception at Greenacres. The beautiful floral detailing on Nicole’s wedding dress, the lush hanging floral chandeliers, and the floral motif throughout the paper details brought everything together seamlessly! Their classic invitation ensemble features charcoal ink on ivory stock with antique gold accents highlighting important details. Each invitation is backed in antique gold stock, wrapped in vellum printed with watercolor greenery and finished with an antique gold wax monogram seal. Everything was tucked into an inner sage green envelope within an outer ivory envelope. Welcome signs, dinner menus and custom escort cards with wax seals coordinated to create elegant, cohesive communication for Nicole + Zach’s guests from “you’re invited” to “let’s dance!”
We asked Nicole to share her thoughts on wedding planning and a little about her and Zach! Gorgeous photography by Megan Noll Photography.
How did you and Zach meet?
Her version - We met on May 2nd, 2015, the night of the Pacquiao v. Mayweather fight (whatever that is). Thanks to mutual friends who invited us both out, we ended up at Goodfellas in OTR. They swear they weren't trying to set us up, but managed to give Zach the scoop on me before I arrived. Our connection was instant and magnetic. Hours felt like minutes and everything else faded away. This was different. I wished that night would never end ...but he had an early morning tee time. #Priorities.
His version - I met up with some friends at Wiseguys (the bar upstairs from Goodfellas) during a big UFC fight. I didn't dress up, I wasn't expecting to meet anybody. I remember the moment Nicole walked in. I can tell you exactly what she was wearing. I leaned over to my friend and told him she was the one. We struck up a conversation and chatted for hours. Before we knew it, it was last call. We said goodbye at 12th and Main as I headed home for my Tee time the next morning.
Tell us about the proposal.
Zach planned an elaborate proposal complete with friends waiting around the corner (and some hiding in the bushes with cameras) for the 4th of July weekend ...but we landed in the ER instead. As it happens, throwing your back out isn't ideal for a romantic stroll by the river. He mended quickly and tried rescheduling twice to no avail. Not wanting to wait any longer, he popped the question at sunset on our rooftop on my 30th birthday. It was just us (and our puppy, Bordeaux!), and it was perfect. Definitely a surprise. I thought he was on the ground picking up wrapping paper... it took me awhile to process that he was on one knee with a ring!
Who did you lean on most during the planning process?
My sister-in-law, Shannon, led me every step of the way.
What detail of the wedding was most important for you?
Every single one. Literally. But if I had to pick just one, getting to marry my best friend.
