Hannah + Stephen's Lush, Greenery Filled Wedding Celebration

Hannah + Stephen were married in a gorgeous and floral forward celebration that took inspiration from the Tuscan countryside and incorporated lush florals and lots of greenery. The couple loved the architectural details of the Monastery Event Center with its Roman arches, domed ceiling, and floods of natural light and wanted to make sure all the elements coordinated to bring the space to life keeping those elements in mind.

The main invitations feature soft gold foil script on thick cotton stock adorned with watercolor foliage and warm coral floral accents. Coordinating enclosure cards with accents of foliage and watercolors accompanied the invitation. Everything was tucked into an envelope lined in hunter green and addressed in the same soft, flowing script used on the invitation.

The two page ceremony program was tied with a satin hunter green ribbon (same green as the wedding party!) and looked lovely lined up in baskets at the church.

At the reception guests were greeted with a unique seating chart - an acrylic cube filled with flowers and greenery printed with white text and featuring the couple’s monogram. Tables were set with a tea length dinner menu bordered in watercolor eucalyptus with guests names and wax seals in green, Prosecco, and pearl to indicate food choice.

Dinner, dancing, and a perfect evening followed! We absolutely love how Hannah + Stephen’s vision came together at the Monastery, a beautiful, architectural treasure in our city.

Thank you to Hannah for taking the time to answer our questions about her wedding vision and how it all came together. Many thanks to Frame 805 Photography for sharing the day-of photos!

How did you and Stephen meet?

We met like a lot of people meet now a days, and that was on a dating app called Hinge. Luckily it worked out for the both of us.

How would you describe your wedding style and colors? What was the inspiration?

Our wedding vision started to come to life when we booked The Monastery Event Center for our reception. I loved the rustic feel of the space and wanted to choose a style and colors that highlighted the space. The best word I could use to describe my vision was “Tuscany”- lots of candles and greenery with the florals.

Tell us about your vision for the invitation and paper goods came together.

Kristen was amazing to work with! I explained my vision for the wedding and how I wanted greenery to be a theme on the paper goods. Kristen designed the invitation on the spot and really captured the feeling I wanted for the wedding! In fact, once the invitation was mocked up, I used it as a reference for my other vendors as an example of my vision for the wedding.

Take us back through your wedding day.

I was hoping people were wrong when that said “it goes by so fast” but it is definitely true. However it was the best day. We had beautiful weather and all of our vendors worked so hard to make every detail perfect. I knew I didn’t have to worry about anything and could really enjoy the day with family/friends/ and of course my new husband!

Best part of planning?

I actually enjoyed the entire process! However, all of the wedding dress appointments- from the shopping/pick up/fittings stand out. There is something so special and intimate about picking out a wedding dress. The fact that I was able to share those moments with my grandmother, mother, and sister will always be something I cherish.

I also enjoyed parts of planning that other brides may have disliked. I always looked forward to meetings with my amazing vendors because they always provided me with new ideas which helped me get even more excited for the big day. For example, Kristen gave us an idea to create an acrylic “box” as a seating chart which, with the addition of florals from Yellow Canary, became a beautiful focal point at the reception.
